Hi everyone !
I've being taking photos for several years but never felt like a proper photographer, mainly because I never thought about my pictures. My photos were ordinary and it just looks like pictures that anyone could have taken with a phone. So recently I've read a book about compositions and exposures that inspired me to really think about my photos. I've set out today with a 50mm (normally I just use a 35mm and crop the thing I want...) and the challenge is not to crop anything but to think hard about the composition and exposure. Walking around cockatoo island which is an abandoned ship factory, I tried to find interesting objects, shadows and contrast. I find it really really difficult but for the first time I felt like a photographer walking back and fourth going up and low trying to find new perspectives. Here are the outcomes for today's work. Please let me know what you think. I would love to learn more.
