CC is always appreciated.
If I win tatslotto I would get that lens, but as that will probably never happen , I can only dream.
I started saving today.....
At $10 a week its going to take me a while too.
Have lusted for this lens since it was announced but I guess I hoped it would be half the price. Was never going to happen though.
The new Sigma 120-300 looks like a cost effective good quality alternative, especially with a 2x converter.
Canon 1D, 5D, 7D & D2000 plus lotsa extras

Not my dream lens. Bettter things on which to spend $12.5k. 300 f2.8 Ef L IS good for me. If I were to go that long 500 f4.
Wow, at that price I will stay with my Tamron 250-500 lens. It is slow and not the best but it is cheap compared to this

I would love one of these lenses, but if I bought one, my wife would divorce me.
Hmmmmmmmm, maybe not such a bad idea.........................
All my photos are taken with recycled pixels.

Wisdom, is knowing not to serve it in a fruit salad.
For argument's sake, say you put it on a 5DmkIII, bringing you within spitting distance of $15k in terms of outlay.
... why not go for two bodies and two lenses covering the same or near enough to focal length range without needing a teleconverter while simultaneously pocketing some of the change?
Runs, kicks, hits, throws and shoots.
