    Serpentine Falls 30.07.2011

It may be a bad idea, looking at the weather forecast, but I am heading to Serpentine Falls on Sunday afternoon 30.07.2011, 2 ish.

If anyone wants to join in please let me know.

As it's a National Park there is a $10.00 per car fee to enter the park. I have a pass to the park so if anyone wants we can meet close by, then pile into my car and go in. I'd need to know beforehand as I normally don't have a back seat in the car and would have to put it back in.

There are two areas that I want to get to. The first is the normal viewing area but the second means crossing the pipeline then following the track that goes around the south of the falls. This second is a "Weather Permitting" idea.
    Peter.

I was there last week and it was certainly pouring down that granite face.

As I will be hiking and sleeping out under a tarp in the wilderness most of the weekend I will not be able to make it.

    Well that didn't work!
Sitting at McD's eating a half unhealthy lunch, waiting to see if anyone showed up and got a message from PhoTomD. Now he's a Kitesurfer and by choice I'm a Kitesurfer Photographer. He tells me it's blowing 35knots. Do I want to do some Kitesurfing photography. Naturally I thought he was crazy. Who the hell kites in 35 knots? It seems he does. Finish lunch and head for Leighton. Get there and look for his car. Spot that and his delightful wife Mel and their son Seb are in the car. Tap on the window and they both come out to show me which kite is Tom's.
Gear up and head onto the sand. On the way down the sand is being blown everywhere. Get down to the water and there is very little sand getting blown on us despite how buffeting the wind is.

    Tom. Airborne.

    Tom at play.

    Tom inverted!

Also got several four legged creatures.

All in all a great day. 203 images. 198 keepers.
