Not upgrading to the D3s Darren?
I must say when I bought the D300 I thought the sensor cleaning was just a gimmick but I think I've wet cleaned the sensor only once in the last 12 months versus 10-15 times with the D70s in 12 months.
Cheers

Nope, not upgrading anytime soon
The auto cleaning on the d300 was great
The d3 has the opposite feature

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you all keep referring to cleaning the 'sensor' - aren't you actually cleaning the anti-aliasing filter?
Also, I thought the ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) coating on the filter was there to provide a less attractive surface for dust to adhere to. It also reflects IR.
The requirement to use a different cleaning solution (E2 for ITO filters) I thought, was to prevent "damage" occurring to this coating.
ie; your photos will look the same, but with the ITO coating gone or partly cleaned off, it may have more of a tendency for dust to stick.
I may be totally off the mark, but that was my understanding.

Added for clarity & to prevent further misunderstanding.
OK, seems I'm wrong on the second part - here's a quote from Thom Hogan's website:
"When ITO first became known, it was perceived that an ITO-coated sensor was easier to damage than a non-ITO one. In theory, that's probably true, but in practice it doesn't appear to make any difference. Photographic Solutions dropped their special ITO-only cleaning fluid and now has gone back to Eclipse as their only sensor cleaning solution. Photographic Solutions honors their "no sensor damage" guarantee regardless of whether you clean a non-ITO or ITO filter with Eclipse."
