I wonder what this was so I took a pic, sharpened and cropped it..
Hairy Dog.... NO !!! Looks like one.. But it's not..
Its a Hairy Caterpillar swinging on a thread in the breeze.

I have no idea what it is. Love the shot though. Was it in a spiders web?
Looks like a type of spiky caterpillar?

No the Caterpillar wasn't caught in a web it was just hanging on this long fine thread
Swinging to and fro it was the thread was quite high up the Gum tree
And Yes it could have belonged to a Spider though I don't think so.
We get lots of green Caterpillars about 2cm long hanging on threads from the trees
This is the first time I have seen a hairy one though..
are you sure that`s not one of those little terrier dogs.....
Fuzzy logic?

Its Human to Errrrrrr
I dont know exactly what to call them but there are lots of those in Asia. As a kid, playing under the mango trees...they fall on you and the hairy bits get stuck under your skin and well.. lots of very very itchy rashes all over... could last for three days.
Good shot by the way.. phobia setting in again!
cheers,

Yes Rex we gets lots of caterpillar here from above and I know what you mean.
Mel It probably would be soft but it may make you itchy if you did touch it and I am not going to go there
