for their mac? I have been told it is far better than Safari but am loath to try it without knowing how people find it. I use a 24" imac and OS10.5.8

I only test the site with Firefox and IE.
So while the other browsers should work there are no guarantees.
We know there are issues with Google Chrome; Opera and Safari are both reported to be ok.

use firefox on a mac if your looking for the best solution.
I use FF on the Mac - haven't tried Opera because I love some of the add-ons that I can use with FF.

When I got my MAC, I tried all three: Safari, Opera and FF. Didn't like safari at all, so that was out the door. I than tried FF and opera both. Stayed with FF in the end, it runs smoother, has more plugins available and the total package just appealed to me more. I also noticed some instability with opera on MAC but that could very well be just that one version.
In the end, browsers are just like editors: there's nothing more personal. Just try'm out and see what you like best for yourself.
