I need to make a snoop, but all the art suppliers I've been to in Sydney so far don't have thin black foam. They have thick black foam, foam board, nothing that's flexible?

Clark Rubber.. they're expensive but if they don't have it.. usually it doesn't exist.
They'll cut to size too
do you have a clark rubber store down there? they've got all sorts of rubbers and foams
Hmm yeah i'd agree clark rubber - if you dont have one of them then try other places that mayhave similar stock?

Use a stubby holder
+1 on the stubby holder in a pinch
but they're a little short... a longer one would be more effective as a snoot
put some velcro on the seam so you can easily open it flat and use as a gobo as well
Thanks,
Nam
got some foam from riot art and some Velcro as well, not sure how to attach the Velcro on to the foam though.
And also to use the prickly stuff more or the other stuff more, and how to stick the two types together
i got adhesive backed velcro from bunnings
try some glues designed for synthetic materials
but if you're handy with needle and thread, that's another option?
Hi Nam
Try Eckersley's
They have some A4 size foam which is fairly thin - don't know the actual thickness - but for a snoot you could fold it either portrait or landscape depending on the shot.
They are in the city - Kent Street I think - Parramatta which I visit

Nikon D80 - some lenses
this type of sponge foam is hard to find. I searched everywhere such as clark rubber and art and craft shops but to no avail. ended up finding some in my shed! i see you had better luck finding some in a shop than I did. this foam is also good for a kind of half snoot for bounce flashing.
If you Google "A Better Bounce Card", you'll see that I needed supplies similar to what I think you're looking for.
Lincraft came to the rescue !!
Hope this helps,
