Did I make a boob? I thought it was the QB weekend?
Queen's birthday is 11 June.. I can't understand my own post above! I'm free weekend 2-3 June
I am interested providing no other things prop up between now and then. I have "Clifton Springs" on my To Do list, so this will be wonderful.
I'd like to get to another meet, Clifton Springs sounds interesting. I'd be keen for the 3rd.
the 3rd suits me too
So - 3rd June, Tick....
but AFAIK there is only the old jetty at clifton springs, maybe would go to one of the reserves during the day and head to CS for the evening/late afternoon.
Some ideas of clifton Springs. https://www.google.com.au/search?hl=...FuKtiAfZwZSGCQ
Have to say I don't know the area that well....so open to suggestions.
If you want to be guarenteed to get birds, then Serendip Sanctuary is a great place to go. It is near Lara so it will be on your way from Melbourne. I go in the morning and you will get photos. In the city, you have the waterfront and the Botanic Gardens. Then down the highway to Clifton Springs. Plenty of places for food and coffee in between photo shoots. Hope this helps
I could potentially do either weekend. Also another suggestion would be the west side of the bay for sunrise and Dog Rocks for the sunset if the weather is favorable.

Have we made any decisions yet? I am happy for any location as I live here
Serendip Sanctuary sounds like a good idea, anyone up for that?
I went to Serendip a couple of months ago and got some awesome (for me) photos of owls and other birds.
It is a great place as you are certain to get something and you don't need a big telephoto as there is a walk through aviary and you are so close to some of the birds that you nearly stand on them.
Sounds good to me! Somebody say when, where etc and I'm there
Great, Mic..Looks like it is the 3rd. We just need to decide if it is just Serendip or are we combining Serendip in the afternoon and then to Clifton Springs in the early evening? Thoughts?
The third is a potential for me. I don't know either place but it sounds like some fun.
Went to Serendip at the weekend, what a strange place.....happy to go back!
I am up for what/whenever, but the place closes at 4pm. Sunset is 5:05pm. Weather at this stage is showers.
How about 12pm at Serendip, 2:30pm on Geelong Waterfront for an hour or so and head to Clifton Spring for 4:30pm on the Sunday 3rd?
