I believe they cant because of the focal distance increase from the lens and sensor is to big and you would lose Infinity, even though you can get adapters for M42 screw mounts and some others.
But as for Canon only EF and EFs lenses can be used E.G. EOS cameras.

No I'm afraid the FD lenses do not fit on EF mount cameras with the exception of some of the super-tele L lenses which Canon made a specific FD-EF adapter. These adapters are rare and usually go for about $1k on eBay and only work on the aforementioned super-tele L class lenses.
So practically, the short answer is no.
