Mrs. Claus got me a new Sigma 150-500 lens for Christmas so took it out yesterday for a bit of a play. Here are some of the results. Overall very impressed with it.

The last two images show great DOF blur, have fun with your new lens mate. I'm sure it'll get a work out.

You have got some great shots with this lens. Mine is rarely off the D90. The more you use it, the more you will love it.

Great lens. Mine cost $100 more than my Nikor 18-200mm but the Sigma seems sharper and has less lens distortion than the Nikor.

I really love the bokeh that this lens gives in images. I had mine out over the last couple of weeks for a play - made a mental note to start using it a bit more especially for some portraiture. I love that last image BTW. :)

I was very surprised at the image quality using this lens hand held. I was expecting to have to use a tripod for most shots, but all the ones above (except the boats) were hand held.

LOL! I remember having thoughts of never taking it off my D300 at one point earlier this year! ;)

I got this (what I believe to be) amazing shot using Geoff's lens taken at 1/30s(with OS on), 500mm and ISO 3200 or something silly like that and with a bit of careful NR, you'd be hard pressed to tell!

Can be an excellent lens if used properly for sure.

Good to see it's in capable hands here! :th3:

Congratulations on the new lens, but importantly congratulations on getting a great copy! Some of us have had a love/hate relationship with it but yours seems to be delivering good images straight out of the box. You will certainly enjoy it. It is probably the best value with 500mm of reach you can get.

LoL - the love/hate relationship - those that hate the 150-500 are those that don't have one.

Congrats on the lens. I find it ideal for surf photography.

Great shots of the Kiters. #2 would have to be the best of them.
