I never heard of the MC7, but I'm sure that the Pro300's do(still operate the VR correctly) ... I think??

I know that they have been updated to record the correct exif info from lens to camera, and that AF works, on all AF types (AF-D and AF-S/AF-I).

I found it in
http://kenkoglobal.com/TP-MC7AF2X-DGX.html

see the 3 types, with little info other than 'TC makes lenses longer!!'

They don't sell the 1.5x, there's now a 1.4 or 2.0 and 3.0. Can't seem to find any really scientific reviews, and other reviews don't mention VR.

Since VR is tuned to the lens, stuffing the focal length should affect the effectiveness of the VR movements?

I believe the MC7 is the old version and the 300 is their latest version.

so I stuck the TC in front of my lens
I haven't actually shot anything yet, but it makes the VR very noisy
double of no TC, and on all the time

I have had the 1.4TC on my 70-300vr and everything functioned as per normal. Good daylight.
