Folks.
Have you been missing the little green progress meter from Firefox3.x? So was I, so if you would like it back, here's how.

1. Make sure the Add-on bar is visible at the bottom of the FF8 screen. (View - Toolbars - Add On bar.)

2. Search an add-on (or extension) called Status-4-Evar 2011..... I found it from Q/A in FF Help.

3. Download and install it and let FF8 re-start.

It will look like the screen below, with a bonus green bar in the address window. (Before that I added a little activity wheel - a poor substitute in FF8.)
Am. (:(m, before progress meter. :(:(:o:o:):):D:D:D:Dm, after progress meter.)

Don't search, get it here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/

Just thought to add this here...

Adblock Plus 2.0.1 works marvellously in Firefox 8.0.1.

With Adblock Plus ;)
Why? Get it and see.

Ameerat42 - Many thanks for the heads-up on this one...!

In FF-8 in Linux (PCLinuxOS-2011) - instead of the green blocks progress-bar, I get a nice solid blue line. Also - the download notifier has gained a 'time-left' readout.

Both show on other instances of FF being used on other Desktops - which saves switching Desktops to see how things are progressing on another.

Very handy - should be a "built-in".....! :)

Regards, Dave.
