Hi people,
Im new to the site - Gday!

Hoping you can help me,
I purchased a set of Grad filters from a guy on Ebay, and after receiving them I:
1) Don't think they are real LEE filters &
2) They are full of 'bleed lines' and uneven roller marks

Here's the item described photographed on white paper.

Can anyone tell me if a genuine Lee filter has a Date on the top as well as the Brand and type?

I don't think these are even usuable for long exposures.
Do other Lee Grad filters contain these 'bleed' lines?

Hope you can help.
Cheers

Welcome to AP Shellfish, re your worries with the filters.
Were they bought as "new" items or s/h?
Chances are if they were bought from that site as new they won't be genuine.

It is a bit hard to say much more about your issue as we don't have any images to see yet.

Ebay is wonderful that way. Tell the seller that the item is fake. If he doesn't disagree, then you know for sure you have a fake on your hands. File for a dispute and get all your money back with ease.

As Andrew said, no pics for us to see.

When you want anything high end that can fairly easily be replicated to look real on a website, the best rule to observe is don't buy it from Ebay. If you want something like that, get it from an authorised distributor. I hope you didn't pay what Lee filters cost new and genuine if these turn out to be fake, which you should also be able to garner a reasonable idea from based on what you paid.

Hey guys,
Thanks for your feedback. The seller was very surprised and is happy to give me a full refund. The filters were about $130 which is not far off new price.
Anyway if you know of anywhere that actually has stock of LEE Grad filters could you please let me know.

Cheers and thanks again

Stock will be the issue. I waited 7 months for a full set of hard & soft GNDs and some of the new glass NDs.
