Desert Fires

Out for a drive in the Big Desert on Saturday and spotted a lot of smoke SE of Underbool. After my mate dropped me off home in the evening he rang a few minutes later to tell me he could see the glow from the fires. I grabbed the camera and tripod and headed out to the only high spot to have a look, it had realy flared up and it was blowing a gale and I had to park the Ute to try and block it a bit, I think I would have needed a concrete stand to stop all movement. I got a few shots and these are the best of them. The fire was about 60-70k away.

Spectacular colours there, Keith. Number two seems to show off the intensity of the fire the best with the glow on the tree-line and the smoke cloud filling most of the image on the left. Well done for recording this and sharing it with us despite the blustery conditions! :th3:
