Generic flash units

Usually around 1-2 times a year I am asked to take photos at evening school events, the on camera flash doesn't cut it & m wondering if the cheap speedlite units for 50-60 from HK from a site I like to call flea bay will get me out of trouble. Or am I just wasting my money?

All your questions will be answered there! But just for a quick point. Any external hot shoe mount flash is better than the popy uppy flash thingy. The thing is how you use it :)

many of us are using Yongnuo flash units quite happily ~ maybe they will do you also
