my slave is lazy.......... a little help would be great

ive had a bit of a search on ap and couldnt find much info on my dilema..

i have a 580exii as a master and the 430exii as the slave unit.
im getting them to fire fine ... but the slave unit fires approx 1/2 second after master flash...
is this normal ?? if so... ill need advice on overcoming this.

any info will be greatly appreciated.

Happened to me 2 weeks ago. Was using a ST-E2 + 1 x 580EXII and 1 x 320EX.... the 320EX just always fire 1/2 a second late.

And I believe it happens in HSS mode?

Change the battery of both the 580 and 430 unit of yours, and also make sure both flash in the same setting, it should sort you out.

Edit: re: the setting - make sure BOTH flash has the same setting on Pre-Flash. Either both on OR off.
