Hi All,
Just two quick Qs.
1) What are some good ad blocking add-ons for Firefox 3.6.18?
2) Do they help speed up page display?

Am, you will get a more visible speed increase by upgrading to either Opera (http://opera.com) or a newer Firefox. V5 is just a new number grafted on top of Firefox 4, but Firefox 4 was nevertheless a huge improvement over the old 3.x. With Firefox 4, for the very first time, they delivered a browser that is around about as fast as Opera (which is to say very fast indeed). It's quite a difference.

I can't tell you anything much about the Firefox 5 blocking add-ins except to say that there are plenty to choose from. You can already block or allow pretty much anything you want with Opera straight out of the box.

Thanks, Tannin. I guess I will just have to install V 4(-5).
Am.

Ah, PS: With FF4 or 5, do the add-ons for EXIF and Histogram still work OK?

Adblock Plus.

It's very effective. I've been using it for a few years.

I don't see ads (not that I ever paid attention to them before using Adblock Plus).

I cannot say I know whether there's a noticeable speed increase as a result of blocked ads; I wasn't interested in Web site performance; I just didn't want to see ads.

....... and the Histogram Viewer (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/histogram-viewer/) works just fine if you force compatibility.

I installed this 3 minutes ago on FF5. Worked with no compatibility problems. :th3:

Thanks, Xenedis, Richard and Mark.

I installed Ad Blocker yesterday into my present version and it's great so far.

Soon I'll do the upgrade to V5, and thanks for all the advice.
