When bracketing for hdr shots, what is the difference between 3 or 5 shot bracketing?

When bracketing for hdr shots, what is the difference between 3 or 5 shot bracketing?

An extra stop of brightness and darkness on either side of the exposure spectrum.

Depending on the subject and amount of contrast (or dynamic range) in the scene, it can make a difference.

Thanks for that.I've just upgraded from CS2 to CS5 and recently purchased lightroom 3.I'm Looking forward to using the HDR function in CS5.

I wonder how well that feature works. I have CS4, but use Photomatix Pro for HDR imaging.

I've was looking at your website earlier and it's very inspirational ,hmmmm,........so much to learn and so little time.Your light painting work "Fire or Flood" is just great,love it.

Any work done on the cs5 HDR yet? What are the findings compared to photomatix?
