I haven't had anything to do with Sigma lenses, I did however buy a Canon 70-200 f4L IS in June.
Razor sharp, fast and accurate focus.
FANTASTIC.

What about the 70-200 and then get a 2X TC ? Does anyone think that would be a good idea ?

2x TC's are generally not recommended.....although the new Nikon 2x is actually good (not that this helps here)

From what I have read the IQ with the 1.4x is very good, and loses one stop taking f4 to f5.6, so you maintain autofocus.

The IQ with the 2x suffers quite a lot of degradation, and loses two stops taking f4 to f8, so you lose autofocus on all but 1D bodies.

so do you think i should go the 70 to 200 is f4 with extenders

200mm with 1.4 on a crop body is only barely adequate for serious birding

the 120 to 400 should cover it you think
i am only worried about the sigma lens
