So I am starting to see the limitation of my Walkaround Lens and am starting to look at alternatives, and find a pair of lenses that could each fill the role with faster glass… and then start looking at the details (Because we all know the devil is in the details)
So I am looking at
Sigma Lens 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM for $879
Or
Sigma Lens 18-50mm F/2.8 EX DC Macro for $541
So… What in this case does OS & HSM amount to, how does it (And all of the other available initials) effect me in real terms.
For $338 it is worth knowing.

What brand of camera are you using mate?

If you want faster glass and to be able to experiment with composition in low light, depth of field and so forth I would argue for a fixed focal length and a faster than F/2.8 aperture.

After all, the difference between a walk around zoom lens and a prime lens is ---- the walk --- :)
