here @ Sigma 85/1.4 sample gallery (http://www.sigma-photo.co.jp/lens/sample-photo/85_14_sample-photo.htm)

they looks quite ok too.

It seems to have the same level of loCA's(red and green fringing) that all other fast lenses seem to be affected by too.
I thought that was supposedly one of the key features of Sigma's new SLD 'pseudo fluorite' lens coatings.
Motorbike shot at f/2.5 clearly shows this phenomenon.
Note tho, that Nikon's new 85/1.4AF-S is much worse affected.. and possibly the worst affected(for longitudinal CA) fast 85mm lens yet seen!

Even with all this in mind ... at the right price, this lens may be worth it.

It has taken them about 6 months to finally put a rrp on it ( I reckon they were waiting for Nikon to price the new 85mm :D ) and at $900.00 USD (B&H) it is too dear compared to the AF D Nikkor < $1100.00 AUD delivered !!!!

Nothing wrong with the sample images though, thanks for causing me and my (very limited ) credit card more stress AK. :p

@ $900, I think it'll make a more compelling argument against the AF-D Nikon.

MTF(Sigma's) looks slightly better(by 1% :p) than Nikon's AF-S lens, and realistically, they all look the same in reality.

If it does come in at $900 retail intitally, then it'll probably bottom out @ $700 in a few short months, and considering that I was considering one of those Samyang jobs at approx $200 or so, I think I'll wait for the Sigma for a few months.

ps. don't laugh at the thought of the Samyang lens.. it has the best CA performance of the lot of them wide open!(and they're going to release a chipped/cpu'ed model soon too)

I wouldnt mind a Samyang, but no AF makes it very hard for my line of work, if I want to shoot wide open a lot:)

would consider buying the Sigma if it was around $700 and under!
