Hi

I've just done a quick tote up on my lens collection and decided it's time to put them in a healthy environment.

I've seen a dry box on eBay that I can afford. It consists of a plastic airtight box with a Hygrometer and an Electronic De-Humidifier. I know I need one because several of my old Canon FD lens have developed the dreaded fungus.

Anyone using these or have any thoughts on their usefulness ?

Cheers

Kevin

Kevin.

When my photo gear is not around my neck it lives in a Legend cabinet from Kayell. I got mine for the same reason. Was living in humid Mackay and was having to get my FD lenses cleaned for fungus every couple of years.

The cabinet is great. You can set it to the humidty you want. A red light lets you know when it is working. Have had mine about 6 or 7 years.

A good purchase if you want to keep gear for a long time.

Thanks ricnac

That is my preferred option but I've just splashed out on a couple of lens and the piggy bank is empty. I guess I'm looking for a cheap stop gap solution.

Cheers
