Hi there

This is my first post and I am hoping someone is able able to answer my questions.

Which are

Can a Tamron 24mm f2.5 Adaptall - 2 lens with an appropriate adapter work successfully on a Canon 40D.

Also basically the same question regarding a Tokina brand lens

I look forward to your replies :)

Short answer. Yes. It will work on a Canon 40D. But remember it is a completely manual lens, no autofocus etc, no dial in the aperture. You have to do all of that on the lens itself. If your reason for considering it, is because it is cheap, my recommendation would be to save up for longer and get fully compatible lens.

Sounds like excellent advise Rick, will take this on board and wait a little longer and get a fully compatible lens.

Thanks

David

Hi Rick

It's been some time since I first posted re lens advise on the forum and I am now able to resume my interest in photography.

As a result of the advise I purchased a Canon EF 24mm F2.8 .

Since then also a Tamron Di 11 SP AF 17-50mm F2.8 XR LD. as well as several other lens to get me started on this new learning curve.
