Hi All,

Great to be apart of a community which can offer learning and feedback on photography.

Who you are?
My name is Brandon. im 29yrs old from the Newcastle area in NSW. I've completed a photography elective during school in 2011 & 2012. Always had an interest in photography but never put the time in. Now is the time, not getting any older.

Where you’re from?
The Newcastle area in NSW

What areas of photography you are interested in?
I've recently taken an interest in James Popsey and Nigel Danson who take alot of landscape photography. I'm not sure how Australia could offer these same photo opportunities. I also do like street photography. Plans are to visit some of the local markets where people gather. This could offer some interesting interactions. Really, I'm a novice so any situation taking photos is going to be new and fun.

What camera gear you have?
I managed to pick up a deal on facebook marketplace. I got a Sony full frame body, 50mm 1.8 prime (pancake), Lowepro camera bag, Tripod, remote shutter button and I just purchased a Sigma 24-70 with a filter.
Should have enough to have fun. Probably got all the gear and no idea.

What your skill level is?
Some things I remember from school, but my plan is to work through the "New to Photography" lessons to reiterate what I know.

Plan for this weeekend, travel to a local waterfall and focus on Aperture lesson, Shutter Speed lesson & Manual mode lesson.
Key points:
- Capturing FOV with high and low apertures.
- Capturing movement of water with fast and slow shutterspeeds.
- capturing photos using corrrect exposure compensation in manual mode. Considering Aperture, shutter speed & ISO.

Thanks again and feel free to reach out and offer any advice.

Cheers.

Hi, Brandon. Welcome to AP.

That's an interesting Bio, and it's good to see you posting straightaway.
I will answer your query in the post by James Martin.

For your actual skill level here on AP, I'd say it's Intermediate. Meantime,
have a look at the skill levels here (https://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/misc.php?do=vsarules).
