I know it's by no means ideal but I am interested to know if anyone does (or has) used video editing software (such as DaVinci Resolve) to edit still photos?

It's certainly possible...

I am considering trying it just to see what I can do.

It looks like it may have some uses, but like he says, some limitations as well.

I'd be interested to see what you can do with it, Marty.

I guess I watched too much of this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzwAiaJd5Qk) in days of yore :o

Well just a report back. Resolve can be used to edit photos - to an extent.
Probably more akin to something like lightroom in it's image editing capabilities.
It is especially good at color correcting.
Can also do masks etc.
I've done a few basic ones but will try something a bit more complex and see how I go.
Just gotta find a few good source images of high resolution to play with. A landscape and a nature photo would be good - any contributions?

It doesn't support RAW - not that you'd expect it to.

Supports formats heic, j2c, jpg, nef, png, psd, tga, tif
