I've bought a wide variety of products of this general nature, each one promises to make post processing better, faster, and easier, but they all end up seeming like the same old drudgery. The biggest change they have produced in my life would be the astonishing amount of spam I used to get from Topaz before I blocked them. So I fiddle about with expensive packages but in the end, I fall back to my default state, which is the Nik Collection. I skipped the last upgrade, might go for this one (or might not). They do an upgrade once a year these days, so those parts of the package which are looking the oldest and the worst for wear will no doubt be next year's new-and-shiny pair.

I'll stick with the free version for now.

There's a free version?

There was a free version for a while. I downloaded it and really liked the detail extractor. Unfortunately, I had a computer melt-down and had to reinstall windows and then reinstall all programs. I had forgotten about Nik until this post. I just reinstalled it from the original download and amazingly it still works.

I just Googled "Nik Collection Free" and came up with this: https://support.dxo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001439187-Is-it-still-possible-to-get-the-free-download-version-of-the-Nik-Collection-

No guarantee it will work but it's worth a try.

EDIT: Just looked at that link and it appears to be a 30 day trial.
