This forum has a lot of nature lovers so I thought that I would direct you to a gem of a site, the Atlas of Living Australia.

The council is doing a headcount on the feral deer in our area using a helicopter. They asked us to record any sightings at www.ala.org.au . It records sightings of plants and animals in extraordinary detail. You can also post photos there to verify your sightings. If you are a birder or a nature lover it looks like a great site.

So for any birders that input sightings/data into eBirds that data will be automatically linked into this atlas.
Actually that seems to have stopped some time last year. I'll check it out later.

The Atlas of Living Australia is a really useful tool and database for sightings of all flora and fauna. It includes historic observations and records. You can get a report for an area you are interested in that gives you a list of species recorded from your area. It's well worth a visit.
