View Full Version : Flickr Photo Count

As most Flickr users are aware from early January if you have more than 1,000 photos stored on Flickr you can not upload any new images unless you delete some and get it below the 1,000 mark, or you can choose to take up the Pro option and start paying for Flickr. Fair enough I thought, but according to the count on the top right hand corner of the web page I have 719 photos. Now maths is not my strong suit but by my calculations I should be able to upload quite a few more photos before I meet that all important 1,000 mark. Apparently not. When I try to upload I'm told via pop-up that I've exceeded 1,000 images and can not upload anymore photos. Would I like to sign up to Flickr Pro. I've sent an email to Flickr Support for an explanation but has anyone else had a similar experience?

I did not have problem a sign came up telling me I had 209 to go.
So I uploaded one to see if it worked OK and it did so now I have 208 left :D

PS I wonder if it's because I have had a SmugMug Account for 2+ years now ?

Welcome to double-speak. Where everything* you^ say# has multiple meanings^^.

* the set of all things
^ as part of the above set, or not
# any language, including pre-thought phonemical particles
^^ the significance of which is not fixed
etc
etc

Which is to say, (I think) I read in their apocrypha:rolleyes: that each image is added at multiple sizes:confused013

Just checked and I had 975 so expected to be able to load another 25 but Flickr tells me I can only load another 10, something doesn't add up.

I've got 738 photos loaded and no problems uploading more.

Many people have the same problem, including people with less than 400 images.

The most likely reason is considered to be you have private images along with your ones available for public view. Did you check you were NOT in public view when viewing your photo count? You need to choose "View all". In public view the number quoted is only the photos accessible to the Public.

Yep, that's the problem. I just found I have heaps on my camera roll. Well done Farmmax.

If that's the case - and not saying it isn't - it's not posted anywhere that I could find in Flickr T&Cs and the stuff
that Yahoo sent me on joining Flickr.

Might have to add ##invisible ink speech to my earlier post. I hope Mark can read it :confused013
