I cannot remember if I have posted about this before. I am looking at doing an online course through The Photography Institute.

https://www.thephotographyinstitute.com.au/

Just after some insight if anyone has had any dealings with them and if you have done the course....what's it like :p

Regards

Mick

Dont!

The photography institute is not a registered training organisation.

What you need to look for is a Certificate IV in photo imaging, that will be provided by a registered training organisation (RTO) and that means your qualification is a government recognised certification.

ok cool. will track down a TAFE/UNI or Registered provider.

What do you want out of doing a photography course??
A qualification (Ricks advise is good there) or just to learn more of the basics?? If that's the case there is some good free stuff you can access. http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/showlibrary.php?title=Indexes:New_To_Photography_Book

Number 3 on that list Gavin Hoey (Photogavin) has been around for years and is very good at what he does. If you were to choose one of those courses, my choice would be his.

Though you can learn a lot just by watching youtube videos for free, on the software you use.
