:D

Link to Nikon Rumors (http://nikonrumors.com/2017/02/14/nikon-q3-financial-results-slow-sales-of-keymission.aspx/)

in an effort to nay say the so called pundits out there spreading inaccurate news of Nikon's financial woes...

here's some more inaccurate news to to confuse and confound!

If you can read and believe misrepresented new articles to the contrary, you should also be able to understand the misrepresented data I'm now linking too that shows Nikon's net sales are up by 2% from Q3 2016.
And by the way their operating income is also up .. by 8.5%

Nikon going south! .... yeah right :p

Interesting! Imaging products (I presume this means cameras) was down by 23% and totals are expected to be down in Q4. Not very good.

.... Not very good.

Yeah, but if you that data and concentrate specifically on the sensationalism of information I've directed this thread towards, net sales are up! :p

ps. that 23% value doesn't mean unit products, it's the yen value of those imagine products.

The majority of Nikon's higher priced products are now older generation items. Df, D610, D750 and D810 are in need of that silly regular replacement cycle to help Nikon with the small boost in the Yen total of their sales numbers.

if they could manage to slot in another model in that lineup to help them through the next 2-3 years with something new to keep enthusiasts 'keen' it could help them a little.

I agree.
They probably need to tighten their belts and try to ride out the bad patch while retaining most of their loyal supporters. How quickly mirrorless will replace DSLR's is open to debate and Nikon are probably best to stay with DSLR's until they have the financial and technical opportunity to move into a new line. Still, I bet there are some nervous Nikon execs. I expect that Nikon will survive as camera makers rely on reputation and Nikon generally has a very good one.

WOW, you learn something new every day, did not even know Nikon sold nets!

Wonder how their sale of nets affected nett sales.

Definitely boosted their bottom line, but overall(considering the sensationalist nature of this thread!) .. it's just a web of deceit! :D

I think you may want to look at these graphs rather. It's great they jumped in one quarter, but what you have to monitor is the mean averages to determine where the graph is going.

that was in may last year and the results this year haven't exactly inspired confidence, but maybe Nikon management is looking at it from the same "positive" perspective as you.
