Some may have watched the Australian Story tonight about the ABC Journalist Tabitha Cummins coming out as an Alcoholic.

During the story an organisation - Hello Sunday Morning - was mentioned a few times.

Hello Sunday morning promotes the idea that we don't have to drink to have fun.An initiative to try an address the link that we seem to have, media fuelled, that unless we get drunk we can't enjoy ourselves.

James' girlfriend signed us all up to this after James was killed by a driver who was on drugs on a Sunday morning. All I had to do was sign in each Sunday morning and say whether I'd had a drink or not. As I gave up drinking 30 odd years ago when I started some extra studies it was no big deal for me, but IMO a bl**dy good idea.

Hello Sunday Morning has been running for a few years now and has never asked (to my knowledge) for any donations.

They are now in the running to win $750,000 from Google in the Google Impact Challenge where they are finalists.

They're still not asking for donations, just a vote on the Google page. Please consider them.

Thanks Mark & Rick.

Unfortunately too many of us have a story like that.

Hello Sunday Morning isn't necessarily about drink driving but living without depending on drink (or drugs).

Everyone on that list already "wins" as 4 will get $750,000 and the other 6 $250,000. Well done Google

Just received this email from Chris Raine, the CEO and founder of Hello Sunday Morning.

Good work

.----------------------

Hi everyone,

Firstly, I am ecstatic to share that we were announced as winners in the 2016 Google Impact Challenge!

A massive thank you to all of you from the Hello Sunday Morning community. You helped us take out a $750K grant from Google which will enable us to well and truly get behind developing our Daybreak app.

A lot has been happening at Hello Sunday Morning recently, for starters our Medium platform has been gaining a lot of positive feedback. With the Melbourne Cup at the start of the week, we reflected on what the 'day that stops the nation' really means for Australian culture, and last Sunday, we jumped in on the conversation in the media around the recent statistics showing women are now drinking as much as men. Check out the discussion here.

As always, we appreciate your constant support and if you could, please share our content.

Sincerely,

Chris.
