trying to attach photos from my smugmug site to my post but the don't appear in the submitted post , any ideas ???

still no, at the risk of seeming dim, i am using the little box with the pic of a tree as insert image

Just put https://photos.smugmug.com/Landscape/i-JwqjCM5/0/XL/snow%20hut%203-XL.jpg into the text box

use the IMG and /IMG tags at the front and end by typing them manually, remembering to use the square brackets [ and ].

As an interim report: your url is getting truncated, with dots... in the middle.

OK, I got the image below by doing:
Display image on RHS of Smugmug screen.
Right-click and select "Copy image location".
Paste that between the properly [bracketed] IMG tags in this post.
