About to throw down some coin for a very nice used 600 f4 IS.

So far I'm trying to find a replacement foot for the lens and most of my searches are coming back for the IS II version, same with most reviews, videos etc.

I know RRS and Jobu have one.

Can anyone offer advice on the options, pictures are what I'm really after to see the height differences.

Hi Morgo
Have you looked at the specs section on this http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/LCF-51-for-Canon-400mm-600mm-800mm-IS
Dimensions are given and it doesn't say IS II.

I also found this from Wimberley http://www.tripodhead.com/products/replacement-feet-main.cfm
If you scroll down to the Canon replacement feet, they discuss both IS I & II versions and mention substantial height reductions.

Thanks,

I think I'm going to give this Kirk one a try

Kirk make good products but I mainly use RRS and Wimberley for L brackets and plates.
I hope its height will suit your purpose. Would you go for the sure grip coated model?

Morgo, I caught this thread a little late but if you are still looking I suggest considering a plate from Hejnar.

We have some of his products, L brackets, clamps and plates and they are very good quality at a slightly lower price than some of the other well known brands.

If its a fail I'll likely just grab a RRS foot and write it off as lesson learnt.

Think I'll go the standard grip
