Hey guys!

I'm after a new flashgun for my Nikon D750 and I can't seem to find much recent reviews or advice. Is it worth looking further at the Metz Mecablitz 52 or should I just settle for a Nikon brand flash, e.g the SB-700?

Thoughts?

Thanks.

I did this exercise about twelve months ago and bought the SB-700. No problems with it at all.

+1 for the SB700. I'm pretty happy with it as well.

Another vote for the SB-700. Works with the Nikon CLS which is another plus.

I bought a Metz 64 AF-1 flash for my Nikon D750 ... good price, nice and powerful, good results.

It developed a fault however and I sent it back under warranty to C.R.Kennedy where it has languished for over 4 weeks now without any feedback. So although it's a nice unit I wouldn't recommend one if you care about quick turnaround for warranty work.

Over 7 weeks now. I called last week and was told "will call you back tomorrow with more info" but of course did not hear back.

So definitely do not get any Metz flash units in Australia if you care about after sales service. Stick with the Nikon jobbies.
