I just purchased a photobook through the company "Photobookshop", and downloaded their software to put my album together.

Lo and behold, when i go to create my masterpiece, they have "Photobookshop" printed on the cover by default, and I can't delete the 'friggin thing!!

I've used several other companies, and even if there's a logo, you can get rid of it - not with this crowd. I rang them up, and they tell me that it cannot be removed. It'll have a bleedin' great sticker over it when I get it!!

Mental note .... never use them again - I *hate* compulsory ads. I pay for a photobook, not to provide them with free advertising!!

P**** off.

Send them a bill for advertising services. Charge them the total price you paid for the package :D

Bob. I know you've thought of this: did they mention this anywhere in their advertising, T&Cs, before you signed up?
Is this covered by the Tel Industry Ombudsman, or do you have to apply to the Vic equiv of Fair Trading?
Is there a cooling off period?

Bob, how big is the logo and where on the cover is it printed?

After a quick look at their site I see a few covers of photobooks and none appear to have a logo on them.
Perhaps once you have received your book the consumer affairs people might like to see if photobooks practices fit in with the consumer affairs definition of deceptive advertising.
Unless of course the logo is mentioned in the fine print somewhere --------

My goodness, you did read their terms and conditions (http://www.photobookshop.com.au/index/terms-conditions) didn't you Bob.

Numbers 9 & 10 are very interesting indeed.

It's on the back cover (fortunately) but it's still there (or will be until I stick something over it!!)

Gawd! I just had a look, and I'll be no-one ever reads them .... there are a zillion of them!!! I can only say that experience is the best teacher, and I'll be going back to the other companies I've used, like Albumworks.

This company should be avoided by the look of it - they seem to hold you by the short and curlies and assume control over your sole as well as your photos!!

My advice ..... go someplace else.

Thanks for that ...... I'll check them out. After this album I still have two trips outstanding to process. I'm a tad slack getting around to processing them - mainly because I take so many when I travel! :o
