Hi guys anyone else had problems with their 14-24 developing a tight spot in the zoom mechanism at around the 18mm point , everything else is working fine but when I move the zoom in and out it has a tight spot .
I love this this lens and it's the first issue I've had with any of my Nikon glass

Have you knocked or bumped the lens? I've seen this happen with lenses where they have taken a knock. Not sure if it could have happened when someone knocked your camera bag off a chair without your knowledge.

Don't fiddle with it, coze the drive is kinda too delicate finemechanics.
Take it to Nikon Service or otherwise trade it in for a new one. :)

Cheers , I think I'll see if it can be repaired , I don't have a spare $2500 at the moment LOL

i once rolled mine off my camera bag onto the floor and it developed a tightness through the middle like you describe. it was the smallest of falls (30cm) but the weight of the glass de-centred the optical stack and needed to be serviced

Keep us informed on what they decide to do on the lens...
