I can't seem to save bookmarks to my Firefox web browser. I have clicked on the bookmarks "star" to save it to the bookmarks page, to no avail. I have used the drop down Bookmarks box and clicked on "bookmark this page" to no avail. Any thoughts on how to fix this issue would be appreciated.

I can save.
What version, just for interest? The latest is V29.

Can you get the list of Bookmarks up? - Via Ctrl B.

If nothing else, copy the URL and paste it in.

Am.

PS. Did you have any saved? Can you see them? Have you tried to restore the last working version of you bookmarks?

Lance, the current or latest version is 29.0.1 and when hitting the "star" on a page it lights up, moves to the bookmark menu and then disappears with the page I am on successfully bookmarked here. Sorry, can't see any problems at this end. Maybe uninstall and reinstall on your 'puter to see if it helps.:confused013

My blue star lights up and appears to drop it into my bookmarks page, but when I open the bookmarks page it isn't there. :confused013

Just downloaded the latest version to make sure that wasn't the issue. :(

I have all my previously bookmarked pages listed.

Can't even do that! :(

Yes, I have a large list of bookmarks that all work, just can't save new ones.

This may sound ob(li)vious, Lance, but have you checked the very bottom of the list of bookmarks?

Sounds like a removal of FF, a registry purge and reinstall might be the next step. You can back up your existing bookmarks to a usb stick and then reimport them after a fresh install. Sounds like the next obvious thing to try I think.

click the star a second time, once it lights up. this had me stumped for quite a while too.

Really!?! I just tried again only clicked once and it saved. The little icon leapt from the blue star to the bookmark icon and the bookmarks
appeared on the bottom of the list in "Unsorted Bookmarks".

Ah, yes, I found that too. My unsorted bookmarks weren't showing up in the dropdown box, I had to click "show all bookmarks" and find them that way. If you click on the star again after bookmarking initially it'll let you put it where you want it though.

Clicking the star a second time still doesn't bookmark the page.

Had to completely uninstall Firefox and reinstall and it now seems to work. I wonder what the issue was. :confused013

Somewhere in the foregoing - over the rainbow, maybe - someone mentioned clearing the cache.
You effectively did.
Firefox is divine: it moves in strange ways.

Glad you've got it sorted Lance

I usually just just right click on what I'm looking at and want to bookmark, and save it that way in FF.:confused013

Same here the easiest way to bookmark a page.
