New to photography...

Hello forum. After a recent Xmas gift (Cannon powershot) I have started to take a keen interest in photography. It affords a creative outlet to my otherwise logical routine. A friend who is a professional photographer suggested I join an online forum, so here I am. I look forward to contributing.

The best way to learn to swim is jump in the water. The best way to take good images is to use your camera a lot.
