Downloading from PB is making my images a bit soft,any recomendations for the best way to download a pic?

Photobucket, flickr etc all use an algorythm to reduce their bandwidth costs, by decreasing filesizes. Even a 10% decrease in an image size, which can result in softness etc, saves them a fortune in site costs. 10% across their total bandwidth is a huge saving. I am not aware of any of the commercial photo hosting sites that do not do this.
