Today I was lunching with my grandkids, and as often happens I have cute names for them which change from time to time.

The one I used today was "Goose" - i.e. I sometimes call her a "bit of a Goose". Just to soften that I added "Gorgeous" in front of it. So far, so good I hear you say?

Problem came when I abbreviated it, and said "Hi GG " .... at which point she looked really shocked and said ... "What did you say??!!"

So I repeated it and her brother cracked up, and she kept looking stunned.

Turns out they both learn Chinese, and in basic Chinese "GG" means "penis" !!!!

Not a good idea to call your 12 yo grandaughter a penis. !!!! :o:o:o

Use GG for her brother only.

I'm thinking of just using her name!!!

Just as a by product of all this, don't call them Quiche either. That Chris Lilly thing on TV where he plays a schoolgirl, has introduced a new term - "Quiche" which seems to go one beyond "hot" into the realm of Hot and worth more detailed exploration, if you get my drift.

I could use 'Ich liebe dich' , but they don't learn German. My multi language schooldays only taught me one phrase... in a number of languages!!!
