Hi,
my name is Max.
Italian, living in Perth since a couple of years.
I've been photographing all my life but the real passion started 4 years ago when I received a D80 as a present.
Shot as a dumb with the 18-135 for a while, then used a 50mm f1.8d and the spark started; after a while I bought the sigma 17-50 f2.8 OS and a SB900.
Together with lenses and flash, I also read some books. The only one I can recall now is Scott Kelby's trilogy, but there were others more focused on composition and light.

That setup was good but in occasion of my first son birth I wanted something more, so now I own a 50mm f1.4g and a 85mm f1.4d, which I don't like much to be honest.

I like shooting landscapes and portraits. Even if I understand the laws of optics and photographic techniques, I don't consider myself more than a lower intermediate photographer.

really looking forward to improve myself through this forum

Thanks

Max

Hope you get involved here at AP. Involvement is what makes forums work.
Maybe make a signature and put the link to your gallery in it. That way every time you contribute a post it will be there.

Mongo says Welcome Max. Interested to see your work.

interested also in your comments re the 85mm. Although Mongo has never used that particular lens, he has owned a Nikon 85mm f1.4 AI-s for many years and could never part with it. It is one of the best lenses ever made by Nikon and one of the best Mongo has ever owned
