Was web surfing (what else is new?) and came across this UK website with a plethora of high-end Canon and Nikon gear, plus some exotics.

http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/slkcellular/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3692

How does a D800 (3000 clicks) plus an as-new AF-S 70-200 VRII for $2,300.00 'Buy It Now' sound?

Or a Canon EF 600mm f4L IS USM lens, also with a 'Buy It Now' price of $2,300.00.

Strangely, most of the top shelf gear has a $2,300.00 'Buy It Now' price tag, not in the top part of the listing, but mentioned below in the item description. Draw your own conclusions.

BTW, this seller has 64,908 feedbacks @ 99.5% positive, although when flicking back through his feedback most sales seem to be mobile phone related gear under $20.00.

I sent an email, as requested in his listings, and received this reply.

The buy it now price including shipping is $2,300 (delivered at your door) for every item . Transaction will be handled by eBay, so we can both be protected and able to exchange feedback after transaction is successfully closed! I will offer a 7 days inspection period for the item, so if by any reason you are not satisfied with it, you can return it against a full refund! If you do want the deal, just please email me your full name, full shipping address, eBay user ID and I will start the transaction through eBay. You will be after contacted by eBay with further instructions on how to safely complete this sale. I don`t accept pay pal for this large amount only Wire Transfer !

Only Wire Transfer huh?

Little alarm bells started to ring!

Such High-End gear with a $0.99 starting price. Most 'But It Now' prices fixed at $2,300.00.

More bells ringing now, a bit louder!

This seller has 000's of positive feedback on mobile phone related gear, up until today, but strangely none are currently appearing in his current list of items for sale. ?????????

If you check a listing from his feedback, it is in a completely different format to the current high-end listings.

The alarm bells are now sounding like a fire alarm.

If you are looking at this site, I'd tread very, very warily.

I'll also be alerting eBay of the above.

Yep, sounds like a scam to me to. it could well be that his account has been hacked..which is not uncommon on ebay. Mine was, and it took about a week to get control of my account back (which I have not used since).

I'm on the phone now with eBay and I'll advise the outcome.

If its too good to be true, then it's a scam, btw they have to accept paypal

Well I've reported it to eBay and they are 'investigating'.

I was also advised that under their privacy policy they won't advise me of the outcome.

I'll be watching the website like a hawk until it is sorted.

eBay are working on this site and most of the camera gear has been removed.

It still contains a lot of expensive musical instruments and some medical equipment.

Bet the user got hacked

Bet the user got hacked

Yep, my thoughts too.

Some of the listings still appearing on the site are copies of other sellers listings, but have had the seller's details changed.

This exercise is easy with eBay's helpful little 'Have one to sell. Sell it yourself' tool.
