Hi everyone , i was wondering if its safe to have the sun in the picture while doing a timelapse ?
Im using a tokina 11-16 mm 2.8 for the timelapse's at approx 1/4000 of a second !
Im just scared of damaging the sensor or some other part of the camera , any advice would be appreciated !

it's fine.

Been done for many years before you, and will be done for many years to come.

Just try to avoid looking into the scene, and hence the sun if you can tho.

Sun won't adversely affect your sensor, but some cameras can produce weird results when photographing the sun if the sun is massively blown out.

Don't put a telephoto on, though, without proper filtration. Wide scenes are (usually) OK.

thanks for the reply ameerat42 , i have read in astronomy magazines about the dangers of pointing a telescope at the sun and the eye piece getting damaged which triggered my concern , so the comment about the dangers of a telephoto lens makes sense ! cheers
