Hi

I'm new to this forum (and to higher end digital photography). I love churches and stained glass windows of various types and want to learn how to photograph them well. I recently bought a Canon EOS 650D and want to learn how it works and also learn about lenses and lighting.

- lets see some photos in the main CC forums (http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/forumdisplay.php?5) maybe try a competition or 2 and have fun!

When you said glass I first thought lenses :2smile:

Welcome. Pull up a chair and join in. As for stained glass, if you want to get the ambiance of the church as well, multiple photos at different exposures and then stacked and edited as layers in editing software would be the best way to go, but that is a bit beyond beginner level, so join in, work on your skills and it will happen.

Hi rick

Thanks for that. I guess I want to better understand exposure and light first and then move onto post photography manipulation.

Yes cause once you understand exposure and light and learn the limitations of your gear, then you learn how to overcome those limitations as well.
