You can spend a lot of money on equipment and still not catch what you were hoping for,
The lucky ones who get a good catch work hard for it,
You study the weather and tides looking for the right time,
You get up early to be there for just the right time,
Sometimes you can just be lucky and catch something special..
You see what the other guys are catching and think I can catch that but you don't,
You can go to a new location but not know how to go about catching the prize target,
You can "fish" right next to someone and their catch is so much better than yours,
One good catch and the whole trip has been worthwhile...

I reckon we could do comparisons between photography and a whole heap of other pursuits.

Or combine both and double your chances of hooking a 'Catch'.

Yep i do both and need to restrict in one if not stray from one lol..With Fishing if weather is to my suiting i normally catch what i go after but no so with Photography thats fer sure lol..
otherwise both passtimes can be like a hole in the Ocean whereby you throw good money into after bad money lol.
But , what'the, heck thats part of what we work for when time and familly commitments have been met ey:)????..
Come a stage in life one has to think "Long time dead , if i dont do it while i can" ..

Very philosophical there Papou, but true enough. If it was sooooo easy, everyone would be doing it, either pursuit that is..
