Basically, I was snapping without much thought, point and shoot style, for a while and was inevitably disappointed with the results. And while I ended up buying a DSLR, I figured a decent photographer would take reasonable pictures regardless.

So here I am, hoping to improve my technique instead of donating more money somewhere and wondering why nothing has improved! :2smile:

I'm also looking forward to getting to know some of the good folk on the site as well.

I'm currently shooting on a :clogo: 40D, primarily with a 17-85 lens. I also have a nifty 50 and a 55-250 zoom.

Maybe have a look at the New to Photography (http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/showlibrary.php?title=Indexes:New_To_Photography_Book) book and the Learning Plan in the book.
