Thanks for that.

What is even better to see is at least one AP member that I recognise as a winner (http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/showthread.php?111492-Congratulations-to-AP-member-SARGE-for-his-win-in-ANZANG) amongst them. :th3:

Doesn't the ANZANG tour?

I'm spoiled as a local and visit every year and recommend seeing the exhibition.

Well I will cetainly look that up. Thanks for the info.

A little off topic but related.....my missus (bless her she loves me for some reason) just told me to keep the information about ANZANG and enter next year. Why is it family think you can take award winning photos when we clearly know we are outclassed? lol

From memory, it used to tour more widely and should in all respects.

^ is that the two birds almost colliding? If so, it didn't seem real enough (which it probably was). There was just something missing from the photo.

I wasn't judging the Perth National last year which was the year that it won that. (I overheard, or it was meant to be so) that the "national body" wasn't too happy about it, whatever that meant.

I've viewed the image in quite good detail (online) and can say that it all looks legit. The light angle is right each of the birds so they were shot at the same time and one can't tell if they weren't. From memory, there is some slight haloing about the Spoonbill but that is likely from the entrants PS/PP ability and having to push some light in the right areas to pull it off - the dark areas would have been a bit too dark to appreciate the image fully. I recall the rules indicate something like "any post processing must not be obvious or alter the image content" or something along those lines.

The photog does produce some excellent work and it's a pity he has chosen to retire. Having said that, he has reached a pinnacle of achievement and that's what I told him.

What is your concern with the winning image, Feg?

Says it was shot with 800mm.depth of field not believable IMO.Now states he used 24.-105.???????????Lots of questions.I noticed a few composite bird shots on his site that I just cant find anymore but where there a few days ago.
