Recently visited a local landmark that is now owned by a mining company.
Found this marking on a rock in the middle of a river.
Is it a symbol that means anything to anyone?

Close, it is juts a simple survey marker.
The surveyor marks the "spot" from which survey readings are taken, there can be no mistakes when there is a physical marker if they need to go back and check any readings

And so, for them - presumably the miners - a sure sign of imminent milk and honey.
(Editor's note: not a few beekeepers - and some of renown - augment their daily bread in this locality.)
