what makes them even more amazing is that he did not use a camera to take them. They are the photo-realistic drawings, yes drawings, by an artist called Paul Cadden. Stunning work

That is really scary that someone has that much talent, vision and perception.

Very impressive.
Since I'm useless at drawing (other than doodles), I won't be giving up photography any time soon.

He must be using a Nikon pencil :D

Yes, probably -- the pencil he used is a newer model full-size pencil, which has only been on the market for a few years; whereas Canon's full-size pencils have been available since 2001...

Looks like someone has a "photographic" or identic memory and attention to detail. And whats more the artistic talent to communicate that in a visual form. Now thats a talent.

Why would you bother? You could just take a photo.
Seriously, they are quite good, but they don't do anything new. I have seen better photos and these are just imitating photos.

Amazing Rick, I cant convince my mind that they are drawings - that guy is a freak or is it the 1st April.

Thanks- I'm not good at photography and now you have pointed out how far behind the eightball I am at drawing. The best I got was playing hangman:lol:

That is just amazing work, I was kinda in a  until I looked really closely at the finer detail and could see that it was actually done in pencil..

I remember when I used to draw (perhaps I still can :lol2:) and would aswell draw to detail though never on a scale or even close to what this guy does..

Really appreciate seeing stuff like this as it reminds me of what I was doing before photography, thanks for sharing Rick. :th3:

Funny....

I think it's funny because on the other hand I believe I am seeing a trend where the photography has been made to looks like a drawing.

He makes it clear that he draws hyper-reality based off photographs and stills - would it be any less if someone was sitting for him for a couple hours? Why must people insist on putting others down just because something may not be their particular cup of tea? *sigh*

I've come across his stuff before. It really is magnificent.

It's an interesting reversal of the old "is photography art?"....is art photography?
