Hi
On the brink of purchasing my first decent DSLR after lots of research and looking forward to taking some pictures instead of just reading about taking them! Planning on buying a Canon 550D and haven't quite decided on lenses although the front runners are the Sigma 10-20mm and 17-70mm, anyone have an opinion about these lenses?
Thanks :)

:gday: & Welcome
- lets see some photos in the main CC forums (http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/forumdisplay.php?5) maybe try a competition or 2 and have fun!

The 10-20 is highly regarded as a wide angle. The 17-70 is ok.

Check the New to Photography (http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/showlibrary.php?title=Books:New_To_Photography_Book) book and equipment guide before purchasing - lots of good advice.

Hello Eric and Welcome to AP.. I cant help with the lenses though I would love a 10-20mm for landscapes many Members use that one.
Having a FF camera it wont fit so I tend to stick to the Canon lenses.
